With the Thanksgiving Holiday approaching, I thought I'd share one of my favorite dog treat recipes: Thanksgiving Treats! The recipe is taken from my Canine Recipe Book: "Chew On This" With all the food that is offered on Thanksgiving Holiday, it's hard not to slip and give the dog something from the feast. But so many of the foods that we eat around the Thanksgiving Holidays aren't good for our pets. This is why I love this recipe for homemade Thanksgiving Treats for dogs. The ingredients are things we already have around on the holidays anyway and so it's easy to make these treats while cooking the regular meal for the humans. Ingredients: 1 1/2 cup of brown rice flour 1 1/2 cup of oats 1/2 cup of ground turkey 1/2 cup pureed carrots 1/2 cup mashed sweet potatoes 2 eggs 2 tablespoons of honey Directions: Preheat oven to 375 F
Cook and mash sweet potatoes and carrots Brown ground turkey meat Combine all ingredients in a bowl and mix well to form dough. Roll out your dough to 1/4 inch thickness on a floured surface, and using cookie cutters, cut out your treats. Depending on your dogs size, make the treats large or small. Arrange the treats on a greased cookie sheet and bake for 25 -35 minutes (depending on size of treats baking time may vary). Bake until golden. Let the treats cool off completely before you feed them to your pet! Store unused treats in an airtight container in your refrigerator for a few days, or freeze them for longer storage. |
