Pet Carriers for Small Dogs

Pet Carriers are an important part of traveling with your small dogs. They are required for dogs that want to fly inside the cabin of a passenger airplane, or by train.  A Pet Carrier is also very useful when you want to take your dog with you to crowded tourist attractions and into restaurants. The carrier allows your small dog to have a safe place, even in the most unfamiliar surroundings.
If you are looking to purchase a Pet Carrier for your small dog, we highly recommend you buy one that is approved for airline travel. Even if you currently don't believe you will take your dog on an airplane with you, you will already own a carrier that is versatile and meets all industry standards.
Refer back to our blog post on how to properly introduce your pet to a carrier here.

Dog Crates

We highly recommend that you have a crate for your dog and train him to be comfortable in it. Crates come in all kinds of different sizes and are great for training, house breaking, car travel and to keep your pet safe and secure during all kinds of other travel adventures. They are required if you want to ship your pet by air, and are often recommended while keeping your dog with you in hotel rooms or vacation rentals.
If you use the crate for airline travel, please be sure to use a Airline Approved crate. Wire crates and soft sided crates are not appropriate for airlines.

When you first introduce your pet to the crate, be sure to do so slowly. For advice on crate training, see our blog post here.important-steps-to-crate-train-your-dog.html
