We love getting together with the family and friends for game nights. There are a lot of great games out there, but this article is for all the dog-lovers out there. We set out to find dog-themed card and board games that are suitable for adults and children.
Here are our favorites for 2019:
Monopoly - The Dog Artist Collection
This is the old favorite game, Monopoly, with a special edition for dog-lovers. This is a beautiful game, however, because it is a special edition made by USAopoly, the board game is rather pricy. We think it would make a fabulous, special gift for someone that loves this traditional family game and is really into dogs.
Late for the Sky - (insert your breed)-Opoly
A much more affordable version of the Monopoly board game is made by Late to the Sky. They made a wide range of breed-specific games, such as Bulldog-opoly, Lab-opoly, Dachshund-opoly, Boxer-opoly, Shepherd-opoly - to name just a few. Each game board is full of breed specific pictures and one can choose between the traditional game or a 1-hr version. The game is rated for 2-6 players and for ages 8+.
Man Bites Dog
Man Bites Dog is a new twist to the Apples to Apples type card game, made by Universal Games. Players are tasked to come up with the best - and funniest - News story headline, based on the wacky cards they are dealt. Not all together dog-themed, but a very fun and unique game. A fun game you can play anywhere, without having to bring a big board game box with you.
Nuts about Mutts
A fun and easy to learn card game made by Grandpa Beck's Games offers a variety of play options. Nuts about Mutts can be played by young children ages 5+ or there are more challenging ways to play for adults and older children.
The DOG Game
We had to save this one for last! The box alone makes you want to get with this game - lol.
The DOG game comes with funny dog picture cards and encourages players to come up with humorous ways to explain what dogs think. Suitable to children ages 8+, this is a very fun way to play.
